Athlete Everyday Orthotics Size Guide

Getting the right size is simple: start with your usual shoe size, then trim the orthotic to match your shoe’s existing insole if needed.

How to choose your size

  1. Check your shoe size — Use the size you wear most often in athletic or everyday shoes.
  2. Select that size on the product page — Our orthotics are labeled to match standard US men’s sizing for most models.
  3. Remove the factory insole — Take out the original insole from your shoe or boot.
  4. Test the fit — Place the Athlete Everyday orthotic in the shoe. It should sit flat against the heel cup with no major gaps at the heel.
  5. Trim if needed — If the toe area is long, use the outline of your old insole as a template. Trim a little at a time from the toe end only — never the heel.

Women’s sizes: Many customers order by converting to men’s (approximately women’s size − 1.5 to 2). If you’re between sizes or wear a narrow women’s shoe, start with the closer lower men’s size and trim carefully. CoolThotics are especially well suited to lower-volume and women’s footwear.

Trimming tips

  • Use sharp scissors or a utility knife on a flat surface.
  • Trace your old insole onto the new orthotic, or mark where the orthotic sits long in the toe box.
  • Trim only the front (toe) area. Do not cut the heel cup or arch.
  • Re-check fit after each small trim — you can always remove more; you can’t add material back.

By product

  • ComforThotics — Built for boots and work footwear. Remove the factory insole first; volume is designed for rigid boots.
  • CoolThotics — Slimmer profile for everyday sneakers, walking shoes, and lower-volume pairs. Ideal when bulk is a concern.
  • FlatFeet Orthotics — Structural control; same size-and-trim process. Heel cup should seat fully against the back of the shoe.
  • RunThotics & Carbon Fiber — Performance profiles for athletic shoes. Ensure the carbon plate sits flat with no buckling at the forefoot after trimming.
